Social Media Executive
The role
We’re looking for a creative, energetic and social-obsessed Social Media Executive to join our talented team at wearegrip.
This is an opportunity for someone who lives and breathes social media. Someone who instinctively spots trends, understands what will cut through and is always looking for the next opportunity to grow and elevate a brand.
In this role, you’ll support the Social Media Manager in the day-to-day running of a designated client brand account, helping to build unique, engaging and industry-leading online presences for our clients.
You’ll take ownership of community management, fostering meaningful conversations, responding to audiences in a timely and brand-aligned tone and actively shaping the narrative around our clients. You’ll track performance, analyse sentiment and turn insights into clear, compelling reporting that drives smarter, more competitive strategy.
From supporting live race weekend coverage from our London office to helping shape reactive, audience-first content, this role is dynamic, fast-paced and pivotal in driving growth across social platforms.

Responsibilities
- Support the Social Media Manager in running client and company social accounts
- Lead community management across platforms, building strong and engaged fan communities
- Actively monitor conversations and sentiment, helping to shape and protect brand narrative
- Research emerging trends, platform updates and cultural moments to identify growth opportunities
- Ideate, plan and publish engaging content across multiple channels
- Capture, create and edit mobile-first content when required, with a strong understanding of what performs natively on each platform
- Produce timely and reactive content around race weekends and key moments
- Track performance metrics and deliver narrative-led reporting with actionable insights
- Monitor client and competitor activity to maintain a competitive edge
- Support merchandise campaigns, launches and social-led traffic driving initiatives
About you
- 1–2 years’ experience in social media, ideally within sport or an agency environment
- Social-first in your thinking, with an instinctive understanding of what makes content perform
- Creative, energetic and confident bringing new ideas to the table
- Highly reactive and able to work at pace without compromising quality
- Competitive and driven, always looking for ways to elevate performance
- Confident capturing content on mobile and comfortable creating in fast-moving environments
- Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Threads, including platform best practice
- Excellent English copywriting skills, able to write both punchy captions and longer-form content
- Organised, proactive and ambitious in developing your career
- Genuinely passionate about sport, particularly Formula 1
- Able to commit to a minimum of 20 weekends across the race season, with time off in lieu during the week
- Based in London and able to commute to East London at least four times a week
Your skills
- Experience using social scheduling and analytics platforms
- Strong mobile content capture and basic video editing skills
- Clear understanding of tone of voice and brand positioning
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage your own workload
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Not essential but always a bonus
- Interested in motorsport and specifically Formula 1
- Experience working with high-level athletes or sports organisations
